serlina followed, a slight frown on her face. The small grass fire had reminded her of the fire that had killed her parents. Her hand went up to the bottle and she played with it before commanding herself to drop it and to stop thinking about things she couldn't change. She took a deep breath, and her mask was back in place. She looked at the thing in the girls hand. "Is that a fairy? They look different than the ones I'm used to. Act different too..." she commented softly.

"Bad...? Waitaminnit- Where'd you come from?!" He was distracted easily, or at least his mind was. The rest of him kept applying the cleaning solution to the wound, when he realised that the wound wasn't there. "Whaa?!" He glanced up, wide eyed, glasses somewhat askew.

Mannaz was shaken. "Tha-that makes sense..." He finished applying the anaesthetic, and put the small flat bottle back into his traveling robes, where it disssapeared.
Koumori sighed to herself. Yyyep. That was him, allright. Noone else, that she knew at least, would bother with healing tonics at a time like this. None but a failed mage. Idiot. She moved forward, but stayed out of view. This was a test; if he spotted her dark aura, she would bother talking to him. If not, she would carry on.
Mannaz looked up, curious. That energy... It seemed familliar.

Ashton turned to the green haired person. "Nice person helped Ashton, Daddy," he said to Thorn. Thorn smiled at his son, and walked over to the person. "I am Thorn. This is my son, Ashton. Thank you for helping him," Thorn said, bowing. When in his semi-human form, as he was now, he looked slightly like his son, except his eyes were more human-ish, he didn't have wings, and his hair was short and spikey. Ashton clung to his fathers leg, beaming.

Mannaz suddenly became very nervous. Which was a bad thing. "Um... Hehe- It's umm... Part of what I do... I can't just let an injured child stay injured..." He wrung his hands, and chewed his lip.
Koumori slapped her forehead. It was him, allright. She wasn't sure if he noticed her existance, or not, not that it mattered... The man was the male form of a 'ditz'... But she stepped out of nowhere none the less, wearing a cold, empty facial expression.
((NOW, ladies and gentlemen, shall we see an awkward Mannaz. ^^))
Mannaz suddenly became very, very stupid. It WAS her! "Hello, K-k-oumori...?" He attempted to smile, but it looked painfull.

Thorn raised an eyebrow. Then he crouched down and looked at his son. "Does it hurt anywhere else, Ashton?" he asked softly. Ashton chewed on his left hand thumbnail and fingered his broken horn. "Head hurt...doesn't now. Landed on wing. Hit wrist on branch. doesn't hurt though," he said in disjointed sentences. Thorn frowned. "Your wing is broken. There isn't much I can do about that..." he said softly. Then, the woman stepped out and Thorn stiffened. He shifted back to his dragon form and curled protectively around his son. The woman smelled strange. He didn't trust strange smelling women around his son...not after Serlina.

Koumori raised an almost invisible eyebrow at the dragon. "No need for hostilities. I am merely here to confide with an old 'friend'."
Mannaz immediately went white. "Er... I need to finish helping out little Ashton, here..." He wrung his hands. Anyone who didn't know him would take his nervous behaviour as abject terror.

Thorn snorted, but returned to his semi-human form. "My apologies. But I just found my son, and you reminded me of an...unsettleing woman," he said, bowing. Ashton yawned and sat down. "Daddy, I'm tired..." he said softly, leaning against Thorn's leg.

Howie got back to his feet, his antennae waving around and picking up vibrations. Were they voices? He still wasn't used to the darn things, and since they'd sprouted his hearing and sense of smell had suffered. They didn't quite make up for ears when he had to listen to things long-distance. He sighed and crept through the trees, curious about who else was out here but not willing to go parading about with his obvious mutations.

Koumori didn't like children, as a rule, but there was something different about this one. He seemed... Old. Intruiging. She would make a point to investigate later. "Remind you of someone?" a faint smile played acroos her thin, grey lips, before it vanished, as quickly as it came. "Believe me, sir. You are not the first to find me... Unsettling."
Mannaz stared. One could practically see little floating hearts about his head at this point.

Thorn raised an eyebrow again, thne shrugged and turned to his son. Ashton had fallen asleep. Thorn sighed. "Come on, son. We need to take care of that wing," he sad softly, shaking his son gently. Ashton mumbled something, but didn't wake up.

Wait.... there were people here! Good grief, what was wrong with that kid? He was turning into some sort of... of.... lizard-bat-hybrid thing! And something wasn't right about some of the other people here, either. Maybe the doctors had relocated him to another part of the island. Or another island entirely - this forest wasn't anywhere near as tropical as what he had grown accustomed to.
Howie peeked around the edge of a tree, for some reason assuming that his brown hair would camoflauge him. Then he tried to step foreward and tripped. On a root. He went down gracelessly, swearing at vegetation in general.

Koumori immediately whirled around, holding a ball of pale blue, blazing fire in her right hand. Her ears flattened against her head, and she bared her fangs, appearing more batlike than ever. "Who are you, and what do you WANT?!"
Mannaz turned around as well, curious.

Thorn whirled around, instantly in his natural form, growling. Ashton woke up with a jolt and tried to fly away, only to be harshly reminded of his broken wing. He yelped loudly and ran towards the green haired person.

Mannaz knelt down to the child's height, chewing his lip as he allways did when nervous. "It's allright..." Words. Useless words.
Koumori hissed.

Howie yelped and tried to scramble backwards while grinning nervously and explaining himself. Unfortunately, a tree was in the way. "Hey babes, just a kid, see? I was just passing by, if you could point me in the direction of the compound or something, now just put down that... that.... buh....."
He caught sight of the blue ball of fire and his expression became quite distant. His eyes dialated and glazed over, and the nervous grin was replaced by a dopey smile. He inched forward. "Bright," he mumbled, and poked the fireball. "YEOWCH!" He sprang back, nursing his singed finger, then began to inch foreward again.

Koumori was dumbfounded for a mere instant. Then her natural instincts took over. "What in the nine hells are you supposed to be?!" She scowled, and the fireball flickered off. What kind of an idiot poked a fireball?!
"Try not to move it, Ashton..."

Thorn growled louder. That strange boy was close to his son. The green dragon's eyes glowed as he contacted the plants of the forest. The trees trembled and leaned close, sending branches heading towards the boy with the moth antenas.

Howie had been inches away from poking the fireball again. Instead he blinked, looking rather dazed. Then his expression flickered to realization and disgust. "Did it again." He shook his head, his face springing back to its default grin. "No matter. None of that can be helped. I am human, and I'd appreciate some sympathy coming from a fish-girl."

Ashton saw the branches heading for the boy. He smiled and shut his eyes. He listened to the sound of the plants and zerod in on the voice of the grass. help daddy...trip boy... he said to them. The grass agreed cheerfully, and began tangling around the boys feet. meanwhile, the branches reached closer, getting ready to tie the boy up and drag him away from Koumori, Mannaz, and Ashton.

Koumori twitched, and so did her left ear, as it allways did. "... I am NOT a FISH!" She was suddenly curious. "Human, you say?" She immediately calmed down, if only the tiniest bit. Maintain control. Keep focused. Can't lose my thought process, or things will explode. She noticed the grass, but didn't care. If it tried anything, she would burn it.
Mannaz was atonished at the plant movement. Such talkent, at so young of an age!

"Not a fish? Really? Okay, but what do you suppose it is? I mean, I'm just a city kid, what do I know about animals. Can't think of anything with those kind of ears, though..." Howie appeared to notice the trees for the first time. He gaped at his feet. "Erm. Ecuse me, but I think I've been drugged, because I swear there are plants wrapping around my feet here and are those branches closer than they were before?" He was still grinning, but it looked a little more frightened. That and his antennae had drooped until they were pressed flat against the sides of his head. ((Guh! Stop changing around the posts *gets easily confuzzled*))
