Coal(to Randal): Have you a death wish? honestly, most people, when they see scales dancing over melly's skin, don't try to provoke her further. Why did you?

Touwen (to coal): So Coal, if Mel actualy went dragon berserk what would it take to calm her down?

Coal (to Touwen): Well, probably randal's death and lots of rampage. melly's kept the dragon locked up so long that if ever got out completely, it wouldn't be easy to lock up again...

Randal: I’m very likely a nilist though I certainly don’t think of myself as one, I’ve been told such is the case. When you are traveling by grabbing onto death coat tails it does really eat away at way you see death. Besides I’m not good at being afraid anymore. It is rather something I’ve lost along the way. I have known terror from time to time, but that is a little different. Something like fear for fear’s sake rather then fear of death.
I provoked her because I wanted to see what happened. I provoked her because she was allowing herself to be manipulated by her emotions. I provoked her because that is what comes naturally to me. I provoked her because she needed to be provoked. I provoked her for no reason at all. Take your pick, whichever one suits you that is the reason I did it.

Touwen (to Coal): Does this mean that the Dragon and Mel are seperate entities?

coal(to Randal): Are you always this irratating? wait, don't answer that... You know, if the others hadn't been there, I would have enjoyed watching her rip you limb from limb. And she wouldn't have struggled to keep control if it had been just you two...
Frost(to Randal): What sort of magic do you practice? Me: frost, you know you're never really going to meet this guy, right? Frost: And your point is? Me: *sigh* nevermind... Frost: Thank you.
Coal(to Touwen): I'mnot sure...i've never really understood it myself... Me(to Touwen): Mel and the dragon are the same entity, in that she was born with it. However, it is kind of like her alter-ego. You know...I really can't explain it myself...^^;;

Coal: Hmmm well if it was just the two of it would have been just the two of us now wouldn’t it? The world is full of factors you cannot remove one and say the whole world will be this way. Things would have gone however they would have gone if things were different.
Frost: I don’t really follow a specific philosophy. I am naturally aligned with shadow and necromantic magics, but I freely practice most magic I come across. This is generally frowned upon however because mixing powerful magics is very dangers and hodge-podge spells which mix one magic with another usually doesn’t work since the both operate the same way. Something akin to sowing wings on a pig and expecting it to fly. Yea it looks like it should fly but there is a whole slew of reasons why it won’t. I get away with it because my magics are fairly subdued so my mistakes in magic have been also subdued rather then cataclysmic. I don’t try and hybridize shadow and necromancy with other magic for this very reason because they are both so much more powerful for me that meddling with them would probably kill me or worse in the process. My favorite magics are those about time and space, probably because they are among my weakest so there is still much I learn with them.

Frost: I see...*now has no interest...* Me: Umm...sorry about her. She only cares about ice/water magic...
Coal: true. however, you don't know melly the way i know her. If you two had been alone, and you said the exact same things to her, she would not have kept her rage in check...

Your actions speak for themselves, those actions are totally in keeping with your normal behavior pattered displayed so far. There is no reason for anyone to think you would act differently. Yet you felt the need to explicitly state and explain yourself. You felt the need to reenforce the whole thing even though it was already clear. That suggest a defensiveness about yourself, and that you value talk over actions rather then action over talk.

Suka to Trandar: Why are you so mean to Moss-sama?!

Coal: What are you minimum and maximum sizes/dimentions?

Trandar to Suka: Mean? Obviously we have two different definitions of the term my dear. I recall trying to hand you over to him as a gift. I dont recall trying to give someone their greatest desire to be a definition of mean.
But whats he doing falling in love? I never taught him to love! Its like in a family which is against gay people, when their son admits to being a homosexual the father dosent just go "atttaboy!". He beats him senseless and then probably traps him in a dank pit until he thinks things over and decides that its not worth losing a son over. Its like that but with love. We dont believe in love in our household!
I think im being positively soft!
And he dosent seem too keen to help me kill that dragon. His sole duty in life was to me and to the death of that dragon and hes failing. First treeborn in existance to have his attention waver. But I guess thats my fault. I always taught him that it was important to be an individual.
And hes supposed to listen only to me! Now he listens to all kinds of things! Hes detatched and has insulted me, hit me, neglected orders and has even given one! Its like he dosent understand who the boss is anymore.
I just want him to be happy. But he needs to fulfill his duty. And he has no right treating me this way. And that punch hurt...

coal: maximum is about the size of a panther or slightly bigger, minimum is about the size of a trantula or slightly smaller...
Melody (to Trandar): Eh, you deserved to be punched... Me: Melly, that's not nice Melody: *shrug* so? Me: *sigh*

Trandar to Melody in the presence of Wolfchild: No I didnt! That dragon murdered all my friends and family. Destroyed my home. The only reason he lives is because I created him to-kill-that-dragon. He owes me everything. He owes me the ability to be a person and an individual! You'd think he'd be a little bit more gratefull.

Melody: So, you created him to be a tool. And you think you didn't deserve to be punched because of it? Honestly, considering what all you said, i tihnk you should be glad all he did was punch you... Me: Mel, be nice. Melody: I was. Me: *sigh* be nicer, then. (to Trandar) Honestly, i don't think she likes you because you instilled a prejudice against all dragons in Moss... Melody: Hmph! Me(to Trandar): See?

Suka to trandar: I apologize! But you did seem a bit rude to him. But, I guess that is just your nature, right? Well, thank you for, eerm, gifting me to Moss, if you didn't I would be one very sad fox-girl. And whether or not you deserved punching was Moss-sama's choice, I guess... I think he thought it was the right thing, and I'll stand behind him 100%!

Trandar to Melody in the presence of wolfchild (other characters can hear these answers as well if it is your wish to have it so): The dragon thing? Well, I didnt mean it to come off like that. I would just y'know, make a dummy of a dragon and tell him to attack it, and maybe make a few comments on how dragons were evil bloodthirsty greedy maniacs. I didnt think he'd take it to such an extent. He usually is pretty sensible and I thought he would be equally sensible no matter the circumstances.
But dragons are pretty dangerous stuff. It was a dragon that destroyed your village right? See? The only real impression I have on them is that they would destroy my people, my family, my friends, my home and everything I care about without any reason. They arent good people.
Ironically it was Moss' hate for dragons that led to his defeat.
And *sniff* Moss was the only thing I ever learned to care about after that incident. I taught him how to care, and think, and be an individal. I taught him to be more than just a tool. Now hes leaving me, with no way of destroying the dragon and avenging my people, leaving me forever because of his individuality. Because of the gift I gave him. And he punched me for it.
Still think I deserve more than just a punch?
Trandar to Suka: Your welcome! And I wouldnt expect you to stand by me. Its kind of funny seeing Moss as a leader. I always used to be boss.

Melody: Bah. That was an elf's pet, no true dragon. Me: Eh, don't mind her. However, the dragon's on Taleria are all different, and not all are evil. Take Coal, for example. Not Evil. Blackdeath, on the other hand, was/is evil...

Hehehehe. Well, well the choice worked on a number of levels. The young girl shows much promise, she is very interesting, she loaths me, it was unexpected, it bothers certain other memebers of the group, I had to find someone to protect, she is a threat, there was things to learn about her, I'd like to tempt her with the promise of finding her brother, but probably most of all because I wanted to champion her. She seemed the most worthy of it.

Randal: Mm-hm. So, you're saying that if she left the group for some reason, you would follow her? Oh, and she's not young. She's 532 years old.

Young is relative to all creatures. Her number of years in existence means nothing to one such as I. One can be an old soul at the age of 7 depending on the person. I sense in her a certain maturity, but not a coming of age.
As for the question yes and no. My championing of her is not restricted the guarding of her person though that of course is important. It would depend on whatever was in the best interest of her and her causes.
